The Grandest Golf Competition Of All Time
For all golf enthusiasts, the 2018 Masters is one grand event to watch out. This year, we bring one of the grandest golf competitions of all time – The 2018 Masters.
First among all parts of the competition is a kick start for the golfers. In this part, the golfers are given guidelines to make sure they are in the right competition. The second part is where the golfers are let to prepare for their gears and undergo practices as they are also given the rules of the competition. The last part is nerve wracking as it is where the golfers prepare their mindset for the game itself.
The game of golf involves a ball and different clubs where the players choose among the clubs could and which among them could give them the best shot and could score the ball in a hole. Unlike most games, golf does not need a standardized court. Every golf course is different from each other when it comes to the design. So long as the course contains 9 to 18 holes, it is all set for golfing. However, like any other game, there are certain rules and golfing regulations that players are to follow.
In every game, the number of strokes each golfer makes is very important. Every golfer has his own strokes when playing. Golf uses the match play scoring system where the player gets a point in every hole where they beat their opponents.
Originated in 12th century Scotland, this game was just a pastime to shepherds who compete with each other in kicking stones into rabbit holes. This goal is still used in golfing these days and the only difference is that golfers use clubs instead of just kicking the ball.
Now, golfing has become a famous competition of different types. Below are some of the types of golf competitions:
Medal play or stroke play
The stroke play which is known to many as the medal play is one of the most popular ones as it is used in most competitions. This type of competition requires the golfers to complete all 18 holes and the one with the least number of strokes wins.
The match play
In a match play, there are two teams that completes the holes and the team that scores the most wins. Match plays are mostly used in golf clubs with many club members and since this type of competition is played by teams, the rules and regulations must be strictly followed by each golfers.
The scramble competition
In this type of golfing, each player scores the balls in a hole and it will be decided which among the shots is the best one. After such, each of the player repeats the act until the competition is over. This type is considered to be the easiest one and this is why it is mostly used by golf enthusiasts.
In a skin competition, the players compete for a certain prize known as the ‘skin’ in each hole.
The prize is called the ‘skin’ because it is a bag made of skin which contains cash prize.
The mechanics is this type of competition is quite simple, first, the players must allot a number of strokes which they are only allowed to use all throughout the game and when they are actually playing, all they need to do is score as much holes as they can using the number of strokes fixed.
These types of competition are what urges golf enthusiasts such as Iain Sharpe to come over and compete for the 2018 Masters Review so join the hype and watch this annual grand golfing event.
